I made this tonight and it was so good, easy, and I also made a vegetarian version for myself at the same time, and it was just as good!!
For the Traditional version you'll need:
- 1c. Cooked Chicken (I like to use rotisserie chicken meat)
- Lg carton of Chicken Stock
- 2-3 Raw canned biscuits ripped into small pieces
- 1 can Cream of chicken soup
- 2 TBSP Butter
- 1/2 stalk chopped Celery
- 1/4c Flour
- 1/4c Half&Half
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- Salt&Pepper to taste
For the Vegetarian Version:
- 1-2 Vegetarian Chicken pattys, cooked
- 2-3c. No-chicken Broth
- 2-3 Raw Canned biscuits ripped into small pieces
- 1 can Cream of Celery Soup
- 2 TBSP Butter
- 1/2 stalk chopped Celery
- 1/8c Flour
- 1/8c Half&Half
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- Salt&Pepper to taste
Simple Directions for both:
- Boil Broth and butter
- Add chopped Celery
- Gently add small pieces of raw biscuit dough
- Stir in condensed soup
- Let mixture boil for a few minutes until dumplings are swollen
- Add cooked chicken (only in traditional version), and flour
- After flour has dissolved and made broth a little thicker
- Add half and half and seasonings
Super simple, and really good. It will be a hearty meal regular in our house from now on! Thanks for reading!!
